Kinard Baghot de la Bere

Kinard Baghot de la Bere lived at No 52 Sydney Buildings from 1917 to 1931.

No 52 as it is today

Kinard Baghot de la Bere was an engineer of repute, a parliamentary advisor and author. He moved to No 52 in 1917 with his wife Catherine. He was 80 years old.

He had spent the twenty four years prior to 1904 in Burbage, Leicestershire and the Burbage Heritage Group have erected a blue plaque in honour of his many achievements. Their website can be viewed at www.burbageheritage.co.uk.

Catherine died in 1923, aged 82. She is buried in Smallcombe Cemetery.

Their youngest son Stephen was a well known artist. He died in 1927, aged 50, at his father's house.

Kinard died in January 1932, aged 94, at the Forbes Fraser hospital. Cemetery records show that he is buried with his wife, but this is not reflected on Catherine's memorial stone.

The memorial can be read from the Memorial Inscriptions section of this website.

With thanks to the Burbage Heritage Group.
