Sydney Buildings joins Darlington Place to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee

Queen Elizabeth II - 60 years accession

Balloons, flags and tables ready to go

3 June 2012

"The two roads of Sydney Buildings and Darlington Place have set up a system of shared entertainments starting with the Queen`s Golden Jubilee and continuing with William and Kate`s wedding and this year the Diamond Jubilee. Darlington have a large lunch each year and so it was combined with that and done in great style with seating under cover for somewhere in the region of 80 people, which was just as well as the weather was nothing short of diabolical. The Sydney Buildings complement consisted of just under half that number.

Celebraiting under cover

There was an excellent Jazz band lead by Jim Marshall of this road and we supplied a huge number of red white and blue balloons. The food was on a 'bring a dish' basis, with a raffle divided between Dorothy House and Hounds for Heroes which raised just under £400.

Raising funds

And a good time was had by all."
