Mrs Jubbie's reminiscences of the Blitz

Bath was hit by air raids on April 26 & 27 1942 and this photograph was taken 10 days later. The back of Sydney Buildings is visible in the top right corner.

"There was very limited ack-ack defence from Lansdown.

Blast damage was widespread in Sydney Buildings, in No 29 and Sydney Parade.

A high explosive bomb hit Top Lock, others landed in Lime Grove Road.

Afterwards, mosquitoes bred in the damaged lock and were a pest."

Mrs Jubbie lived in Sydney Buildings during the war.
