George Love Dafnis

George Love Dafnis lived with his family at No 32 Sydney Buildings from 1911 to 1968. He was a telegraph operator and a prolific photographer.

The complete collection of glass plate negatives, owned by George's grandson Peter Dafnis, are being digitised by Dan Brown for the online archive Bath in Time.

During 2009 a small exhibition of his work was held in the foyer of the Guildhall, Bath. Articles on George Love Dafnis and his work were published by two local websites, www.thisisbristol and www.thisissomerset and are reproduced here in PDF format.

The George Love Dafnis collection can be seen at http://www.bathintime.co.uk.

The parents of George Love Dafnis, George and Mary Ann Margaret Dafnis, are buried in Smallcombe Cemetery (Area L, plot C.6).
