October 9 2011 Memorials added for three plots in Sections B and one in Section D. PDFs updated to reflect the memorials for houses No 1, 5, 12, 24, 33 and 42.


September 26 2011 A new article on the PEOPLE page for Lawrence Harry Wilson who lived first at No 34 and then at No 13.


September 25 2011 PDFs for No 45 and No 47 updated with the information from the September 20 2011 update. And a minor correction to the memorial for John Gregory.

September 20 2011 Some of the original deeds for No 47 have been made available by the owner. Additional information about the early history of No 47, and the connection with No 45 and No 46, can be viewed by accessing the MORE option for these houses on the BUILDINGS page.


August 24 2011 The list of names of all know residents in Sydney Buildings, located from Section 4 of the PEOPLE page in PDF format, has been updated.


August 23 2011 Plot references for memorials in Sections A, B and E updated where necessary to conform to those used by Dr Philip Bendall. Minor amendments made to the PDF lists for houses No 9, 28 and 40.


June 21 2011 Plot reference for the memorial for Catherine Emerson corrected from D.T.41 TO D.T.42.


June 20 2011 Access to the Smallcombe Cemetery inscriptions is now from a new page, MEMORIALS. The text from the INTRODUCTION page has been merged with the HOME page content, and the INTRODUCTION page deleted.


June 19 2011 The plot numbers for all the memorials so far located have now been amended, where necessary, in line with the maps produced by Dr Philip Bendall for the Bathwick History Society. The corresponding PDF lists have been reloaded to reflect these changes. New photographs have been taken for Sections V to Z. Minor corrections to the names for house Nos 24, 52 and 56.

Noted on the LINKS page: the project to record the memorials at Smallcombe Cemetery has now been completed by Dr Philip Bendall, in conjunction with the Bathwick History Society, and a copy, in both book and disc format, has been lodged at the Bath Records Office.

July 20 2010 References to two memorials located at Smallcombe Cemetery for former owners of No 39 added to the article for that building, accessed from the BUILDINGS page. January 16 2010 A photograph added to the article for No 21 showing the back view from the canal, circa 1900, accessed from the BUILDINGS page, and the author correctly attributed as Jennie Lawton, not Sarah Pooley [apologies to Jennie and Sarah]. The code [M] added to names on the residents list for houses 23a, 24, 27 and 29 where memorials in the Smallcombe Cemeteries have been identified. Small correction to the two PDF lists showing memorials by house and by name: Mrs Bright was from No 24, not 25 as previously shown. Two articles about residents of No 29: the Sissons sisters who lived there in the 1870s, and the daughter of the present owner who grew up in Sydney Buildings in the 1950s and 1960s. Both of these articles can be viewed from the PEOPLE page.
